Instant Gratification: Prince, “17 Days”

June 7 was Prince’s birthday, and as you may or may not recall, Rhino celebrated the occasion by announcing that the Prince Estate - in partnership with Warner Bros. Records - announced the impending release of PIANO AND A MICRPHONE, a nine track, 35-minute album featuring a previously unreleased home studio cassette recording of Prince at his piano captured in 1983.

The album in question won’t be out until September 21, and it’s gonna be a long wait for Prince fans, but if you count yourself among that number, you’ll be pleased to know that we’ve made the album’s opening track, “17 Days,” available for your listening enjoyment.
