Yes, dear frequenter of Rhino.com, it’s true: after we broke the seal on the Christmas-album season last week with the announcement that Los Lobos’ new holiday LP was on the shelf in your friendly neighborhood record store or online music retailer, we simply couldn’t stop the momentum, which is why this week kicks off with the announcement that Chicago’s newest holiday collection is here now, too! 

CHICAGO CHRISTMAS makes for Chicago’s fourth Christmas LP, but when you’ve been around as long as these guys have been, that’s a perfectly reasonable number, particularly when this one focuses on original holiday songs written by the band especially for the album. Produced by founding band member Lee Loughnane, this is Chicago’s 37th album, and they’re showing no signs that a 38th isn’t likely to be on the horizon. 

The CD and digital version of CHICAGO CHRISTMAS are available now, and both a regular vinyl version (available everywhere) and limited-edition red and white vinyl versions (available exclusively at Rhino.com) will be released on November 22.
