Now Available: David Bowie, SOUND AND VISION – The 40th Anniversary 7” Picture Disc

Since the sad, seemingly sudden, and all-too-soon death of David Bowie last year, Rhino has continued with the reissue campaign that had begun before his passing, giving fans an opportunity to enjoy their hero’s work with newly-remastered sound. What we’ve also been doing is releasing special limited 7” picture discs, and today brings the latest in the series: the 40th anniversary edition of SOUND AND VISION.

You know the song, of course, from its inclusion on Bowie’s 1977 album LOW, but you may also know its title as a result of the track sharing its name with Bowie’s anthology boxed set, which spawned a highly successful greatest-hits tour. The A-Side of the single featuring a new remaster of SOUND AND VISION, with the B-Side delivering the so-called Sony Expedia Mix of the song, which has been remixed by Sonjay Prabhakar. The name of the mix is one that’s apropos, as it was originally done for a Sony Experia ad, but you’ll note the way they’ve added a new piano part to the existing vocals by Bowie and – on backing vocal – Mary Hopkin.

Just so you can’t say we left you in the dark about anything, here’s the official track listing, straight from Rhino HQ:

• A-Side:
Sound And Vision (2016 Remaster)
(David Bowie)
Produced by David Bowie & Tony Visconti

• B-Side:
Sound And Vision (Sony Experia Mix)
(David Bowie)
Produced by David Bowie & Tony Visconti
Remixed by Sonjay Prabhakar
