Sit down, kids, and let us tell you a tale of a gentleman named Jack and his mannequin…
No, no, just kidding. This is actually a story about a band called Something Corporate…or to be more specific, it's a story about Something Corporate's singer, Andrew McMahon, who decided in 2004 that the fact that his band was going on a bit of a hiatus didn't mean that he had to do the same with his career. Instead, McMahon took the money in his savings account and recorded a solo album, releasing it under the moniker Jack's Mannequin.
The sense of victory McMahon should've felt from wrapping up the album - entitled Everything in Transit - was severely tempered by receiving a leukemia diagnosis right around the same time, but he was able to enjoy a multi-tiered triumph on the day of the album's release, which was also the day he received a stem cell transplant from his sister, one which was successful enough that he's alive, well, and able to celebrate our release of a 10th anniversary special edition reissue of Everything in Transit, which hits stores today.
Everything in Transit: 10th Anniversary will be released as a two-CD set which features a newly-remastered version of the album on Disc 1 and a collection of rarities on Disc 2. Unsurprisingly, it will also be available digitally, and there'll be a double-LP version which features the same material as the CD version, plus a download card for a digital copy of the album as well.
