Now Available: Pantera, The Complete Studio Albums 1990-2000

If you’re a Pantera fan, then you may remember our post from late October when we talked up the release of History of Hostility, a nine-track compilation designed as a primer for those who’ve heard great stuff about Pantera but never knew exactly where to start with their back catalog.

Of course, what existing Pantera fans probably remember most about that post is not so much the information about the primer itself, since they probably already have copies of all nine of those tracks, but the announcement that we’d also soon be releasing The Complete Studio Albums 1990-2000, a new set which includes Cowboys From Hell (1990), Vulgar Display Of Power (1992), Far Beyond Driven (1994), The Great Southern Trendkill (1996), and Reinventing The Steel (2000).

At last, the wait is over: the collection is here.

Actually, make that collections, since we’ve released both a 5-CD version as well as a limited edition 5-LP version. The latter will be particularly exciting for you vinyl-philes out there, as it also contains a 7” single with two rare non-album tracks making their vinyl debut: “Piss,” which first emerged from the vaults in 2012 can be found on the 20th Anniversary Edition of Vulgar Display of Power, and “Avoid the Light,” which you vampire fans may remember from the soundtrack of Dracula 2000. Oh, and did we mention that it’s pressed on translucent yellow vinyl? Pretty cool, right?

As far as the coloring of the vinyl and the title of the song on the A-side, though, we’re just going to giggle to ourselves and chalk it up to a pretty funny coincidence unless we hear otherwise.
