Now Available: THE LAST WALTZ

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the final concert by Rick Danko, Levon Helm, Garth Hudson, Richard Manuel, and Robbie Robertson as The Band. The performance, appropriately dubbed “The Last Waltz,” took place at the Winterland Theater in San Francisco, with the boys in The Band joined by a wide variety of guest stars, including – but not limited to – Eric Clapton, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, Ronnie Hawkins, Dr. John, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Muddy Waters, and Neil Young. Thankfully, the whole affair was filmed, with director Martin Scorsese delivering the end result to movie theaters in April 1978.

To commemorate the anniversary of this performance, we here at Rhino have just released three new 40th Anniversary Editions of THE LAST WALTZ, and we’ve got one more coming on December 9. All of them are pretty sweet, but trust us when we say that the last one – the Collector’s Edition – is going to be well worth your wait.

So which ones are available now?
