Black Sabbath THE VINYL COLLECTION 1970-1978 Cover

They were among the biggest, baddest heavy metal bands to emerge from the UK in the ‘60s, and they were also among the last, since they didn’t actually form until 1969, but once Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward joined forces and became Black Sabbath... Well, let’s just say that the ‘70s wouldn’t have been the same without them, and once they arrived, rock and roll would never be the same again.

Now Rhino commemorates the first eight years of Black Sabbath’s career by offering up the eight studio albums they released between 1970 and 1978 while also including a new singles compilation – MONOMANIA – which features nine of the band’s singles in glorious mono. There’s also a 7” single of “Evil Woman (Don’t Play Your Games With Me,” backed with “Wicked World,” which never saw release in the States.

Great set, right? Well, here’s the catch: it’s limited to only 3,000 numbered copies, so if you want one, you’d best make your move sooner than later.

Here’s the full listing of the albums included, along with the track listing for MONOMANIA:
