Out Now: The Cure – The Deluxe Reissues / Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me on 180-gram vinyl

Several years back, Rhino celebrated the career of The Cure by reissuing deluxe 2-disc editions of all seven of the albums released by the band between 1979 and 1987. If you know anything about their output during that era, then you know just how much amazing and influential music that is, but although the albums have remained available digitally over the years, these deluxe editions haven’t been readily available for awhile. Now, however, they’re back, and they’re…well, actually, they’re not better than ever, because they’re effectively the same versions that we put out before. But when you consider how good they were to begin with, then you don’t really have anything to complain about, now, do you?

Here’s a quick run-through of the albums that are back in stores, how many tracks are included on each , and which of your favorite singles appear on which albums, just in case all those years of listening to Standing on a Beach have left your memory a little hazy:

Three Imaginary Boys: 33 tracks, including “Boys Don’t Cry” and “Jumping Someone Else’s Train”

Seventeen Seconds: 25 tracks, including “A Forest”

Faith: 23 tracks, including “Primary” and “Charlotte Sometimes”

Pornography: 22 tracks, including “The Hanging Garden”

The Top: 27 tracks, including “The Caterpillar”

The Head on the Door: 28 tracks, including “In Between Days” and “Close to Me”

Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me: 36 tracks, including “Just Like Heaven,” “Catch,” “Hot Hot Hot!!!” and “Why Can’t I Be You?”

And, hey, as long as we’re talking about Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, here’s another bit of good news, particularly if you’re a vinyl freak: we’ve also just re-issued the album on 180-gram vinyl. We’d make a “Friday I’m in Love” joke, but since that’s not on one of the albums that’s been reissued, let’s just say that if you’re a Cure fan, today should be just like heaven.
